I received an email from an elderly gentleman in Wolverhampton; he was enquiring as to whether I am associated in any way to a damp proofing firm which operated in Medway, circa 1995.
I informed him I had never heard of this particular firm (Rochester Damp Proofing) but I asked out of curiosity why he was attempting to locate an invariably defunct business.
Apparently he had brought a property in Higham from an auction in 1994.
Initial refurb work took place in early 1995 before it was decided that damp proofing was required.
Rochester Damp Proofing was called in and after a seemingly thorough inspection a price was agreed on there and then. Works began within two days of the inspection.
